    BIOGRAPHIA
    The Ghost had come at long last. His light dug into the ground and took that which the Earth had kept cradled in deep roots and soil for centuries: a woman. Gifts of armor and weapons adorned her, and through the wilds of ancient Europe, the Ghost bade the New Light to begin her hunt in the name of the Traveler.

    The Hunter is formally known as Starling, offered by Calcifer, her Ghost, for the family of starlings singing in the maple tree near her grave. She has forged legends of her own making by cutting down foes and armies with little else but her gun, wit, and cunning.

    PERSONA
    Death has desensitized the Hunter. What is there to fear if you cannot die? This and her many excursions tempered Starling’s bravery, but not without keeping a sense of wisdom close like a boon.

    Starling is a compassionate old soul, and just. She may be soft-spoken, but something about the convictions in her voice makes her easily heard all the same. She bears a deep sense of insatiable curiosity for mystery and investigation. If there is a question that needs answered, Starling will try to find it. Starling despises confrontation with people and would sooner disappear than solve interpersonal relationships, which makes her an infuriating teammate to most. It is a difficult feat to get her to show any kind of vulnerability to anyone. When she is, she has no idea how to bear it.
  • HISTORIA
    Despite Calcifer's protests, Starling longed to investigate her past life. She traipsed back to her gravesite, and discovered the place of her resurrection was slightly off course from Sojourner's Camp in the European Deadzone. Starling gleaned a little of the clues left behind, but it's scant at best. Was she once a part of the campers? Did she work within the laboratories? She may never know.

    Considering its seclusion and free of enemy control, Sojourner's Camp has become Starling's frequent haunt. It has an amazing view of coniferous forests and wide valleys filled with lakes... and a deserted laboratory hidden beyond stony crevices and fallen logs. Fascinating. In truth, all this is the closest the Hunter has to home.

    POTENTIA
    Arc, solar, void, stasis—all these Starling knows, but she favors void and solar as her primary elements against the Darkness.


    CONICERE
    LIKES: Coffee, storms, rainfall, moonlight, the stars, the calm and quiet, space travel, piloting, the rush after a kill.
    DISLIKES: Darkness, harsh sunlight, loud voices, confrontation.
    COLLECTS: Ancient relics from the Golden Age, bird feathers, beads, old books. Starling nurses a fascination with antiques. Her resourcefulness and keen eye for relics could have made her a good Warlock, according to Ikora.
    OCCUPATION:
    - Mercenary: To some degree, Starling does not mind doing the dirty work of others—whether that is exporting cargo, item retrieval, or assassination contracts (but not without just cause; Starling has standards).
    - Survival guide: Starling uses her survival skills to help guide lost humans through the wilderness, back to the Last City.
    - Explorer: It is in Starling’s nature to constantly move. It is difficult for her to linger in one place for long, and leave the wild unexplored.

  • GHOST
    Calcifer, aka "Cal" the Ghost. Starling's constant companion. It took centuries for him to find his Guardian. Calcifer is jealous of other ghosts, especially those that get too close to Starling, but there can be exceptions. He talks big, is mischievous to a fault, and is a bit of a coward, but he can also be sweet and a rock to Starling when she needs it.
